Ecomer’s newsletter :
In this month of January 2018, we present you our very best wishes. Thank you very much for your unwavering support without which the 2017 actions could not have been realized. Whether you are members, partners, crew members… Your help has been very precious. Thanks to you, in 2017, Ecomer Association, which organizes the Yachts with Heart events, was able to carry out four collections in the year. One was for the benefit of the Food Bank (one ton of non-perishable food collected, i.e. 2000 meals for people in need), another for the benefit of the Red Cross (15m3 of linen and clothing were delivered in several trips over the year) and the last two, because of hurricane Irma, were to help out the Caribbean populations. These last two operations were initiated by Captains departing from the Mediterranean with their yachts, crossing the Atlantic and going to the Caribbean. Superyachts « Slipstream » and « Mary Jean II » crossed the Atlantic in December for a new Winter season in the Caribbean. Their captains seized this opportunity of crossing the Atlantic empty to seek our help as part of a hurricane relief plan, in order to load some 38 M3 of your donations in the form of non-perishable foodstuffs, clothing, tools, generators, construction equipment… (10m3 were collected in Palma, and 28m3 on the Côte d’Azur and the Italian Riviera). On the other side of the Atlantic, YachtAid Global Association is an essential link in our chain of solidarity. They provide on-site support by carefully and rigorously ensuring the redistribution of donations to local populations. Through this partnership, the Yachts with Heart actions have taken a true international dimension. But, the “raison d’être” of Ecomer Association goes far beyond the Yachts with Heart events… We also promote maritime ecology through a “marine quality engagement” to be inaugurated by Mr. David Lisnard, the mayor of Cannes, during our next Yachts with Heart event at Port Canto on April 14, 2018. We also promote beach cleaning, provide support for troubled sailors, teach “savoir être and savoir vivre” aboard yachts, scientific partnership for the depollution of ports…
Created in 2009, Ecomer association has proven its usefulness for nine years. It has shown its efficiency and rigor, and it has established itself as a key interlocutor in the maritime world. But in order to continue our actions and accompany our development, we need your support more than ever before. We have set up membership fees ranging between 15 € to 1,500 € depending on your status and your commitment. For example, we offer a membership fee of 500 euros for companies, and 1500 euros for the benefactors of the virtuous superyacht club. -You will find all the details on our secured internet sites: https://www.eco-mer.com and more specifically here: https://www.store.eco-mer.com
By becoming a member of Ecomer, you support those who fight for the protection of our maritime environment and their populations. If you wish, you can also work with us for the development of a maritime ecology, humanitarian, positive, and in cohesion and solidarity with our environment. So, please help us, help yourself, help each other! In the meantime, thanks to you, the donations collected in November and December around Antibes during the last Yachts with Heart of Year 2017-the twentieth edition since 2010- have just been unloaded from My Mary Jean II in Antigua the 6th of January 18. My Slipstream did the same the 22nd of December 17 in Dominica…
So, please take note of our upcoming events on your calendars. The next Yachts with Heart in 2018 will take place on Saturday, April 14 at Port Canto in Cannes, and on Saturday April 21 and October 13 at Port Vauban Antibes. Our traditional “human chain of solidarity” is at 11:00am, as always.
We are relying on your support!
